Privacy Policy
We believe that protecting the confidentiality of your personal information is of paramount importance. Our policy sets high standards for the collection, use, disclosure, and storage of personal information, not only because it is a compliance issue, but also because it is an integral part of how we do business.
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) was first drafted to address concerns regarding information exchange brought about by the increasing advancement in technology. While first implemented in the federally regulated sector, as of January 1, 2004, PIPEDA now applies to all commercial enterprises that collect, use and disclose personal client information. In British Columbia, Bill 38, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) is now in force and governs local sponsors within the boundaries of British Columbia.
At McKinley Life & Disability Insurance Services Ltd. our policy has always included our commitment to protecting your privacy. We will continue to uphold this stringent standard, collecting, using and disclosing your personal information in the manner in which we have done in the past unless you notify us in writing otherwise. If you object to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information for the purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy, you should contact our Privacy Officer in writing. Please note, as outlined in Section 3, withdrawal of consent may result in an inability for McKinley Life & Disability Insurance Services Ltd. and/or our strategic partners to adequately administer your account.
